There are many right ways to properly groom your beard. We present below some best practices that will help
everyone from new growers to veteran beard aficionados, better groom and care for their facial hair.
1.) SHOWER: When applying shampoo or conditioner to your beard -- make sure to massage down to the follices with your fingertips as gently as possible -- in an up/down motion or a circle motion. This will help you clean your beard throughly and remove dirt, sweat and anything else that has accumulated there. 2.) DRYING: Towel dry the hair carefully. When you hair and beard are wet from a shower, you will notice that your facial hair requires more drying as it retains more moisture than your head (this is especially true with longer beards). The last thing you want to do is towel dry your beard aggressively thereby causing split-ends and irritation. The best way is to remove moisture is to work your towel down along the beards smoothly, slowly and with patience. Then use Craigs Beard Infusion Leave-In Conditioner -- click here and scroll down to it for a soft touch and style with a wide-toothed hight quality comb or soft brush. 3.) CONDITIONING: Depending on your skin and hair -- you might see flaking after showering or you might have beard dandruff routinely. You can minimize these by using a jojoba-oil based conditioner. Jojoba oil can be aborbed quickly due to its similarity with natural human oils -- thus leaving your hair follicles open. 4.) MODERATION: During the day try not to repeatedly apply beard conditioning products (too much of a good thing can be bad as well). Apply your preferred product once or twice a day -- and use small amounts of water to arrange your beard should the need arise. 5.) MASSAGE: Treat yourself to an olive oil beard massage (use fingertips only) as its an excellent natural healing oil that is soothing to the beard. 6.) RELAX: Finally, don't fuss over it too much. You will have occasional 'bad beard days' just like you have 'bad hair days'. Just groom it a little extra that day and get on with your life. |
