One of the trends we’ve observed lately is an increase in products geared toward sensitive skin. This is not only for beard products – rather it runs the whole gamut of the skin care industry: moisturizers, creams, lotions, etc. for men and women.
Now, does that mean that people are getting more sensitive skin or does it mean that they are admitting to having sensitive skin nowadays or is it a marketing ploy designed to capture or carve out a specialty niche?
We’re not sure of the right answer, but the truth probably lies somewhere in between these three. Firstly, there are more and more chemicals in everything, allergies are increasing and are so much more common than previously.
Secondly, a larger segment of the population is now using more skin and hair care products from what we understand. As a result they are admitting that some of these products are not working for them and they want manufacturers to come up with alternative solutions that don’t irritate their skin.
How does this all tie in to beard care products? We’ve noticed the trend and so have manufacturers. We now carry a complete range of Unscented Beard Products to accommodate customers who are looking for alternatives that won’t irritate their skin or facial hair:
Since these products are all designed to be used right around your nose [your facial hair is closer to your nose than the hair on your head] those with sensitive skin or beard will find that they can use these products without having to worry about the product scent being so close to their olfactory senses.
At the same time it doesn’t necessarily mean that unscented products are only suitable or appropriate for those suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS).
Sometimes, the lime smell doesn’t blend well with your body oils or you don’t want it to overwhelm the scent you wear. You might not have any allergies or sensitivity but just prefer a no-scent solution. All of these reasons and more account for the fact that there are now unscented solutions for the bearded man.
So, if you don’t like scents to linger around you for one reason or another these products are definitely worth a try so you don’t have to choose between well-groomed facial hair or an intolerable scent.
If you’ve tried one of these products and have some comments, we’d love to hear from you in the comments section below. Also, if you know of any other unscented products that have worked for you and would like us to consider adding to our lineup please let us know. Thanks!
