Beardsley Oil Review
This post is a detailed review of the Beardsley Oil for Beards – most famous for their renowned Ultra Beard Shampoo and Ultra Beard Conditioner – both of which we have been retailing on our website for the last 10 years.
We wanted to take an upclose and personal look at the Beardsley (Oil For Beards) – so we ordered some to test it out – and we tested it out in different ways.
We’ve used it on beards multiple times at various recommended sprayer depressions (3 -5). We’ve rubbed it onto bare skin and tested it to see how it feels. All this, so we can write a detailed review of the newest product to hit our online shelves.
Needless to say that the Beardsley brand has become synonymous with quality products before facial hair became a trend. Long before that, their wild berry beard shampoo had always been one of our favorite products and continues to be. It was also one of the first products to debut on Beard Care Products when we launched our online store in 2007.
Results:
The oil is indeed light and gentle on the skin and feels very comfortable and soothing. On a full beard, 5 sprayer depressions gave a nice sheen. Using a comb for the beard also became much easier after application of the beard oil. The entangled hairs opened up much easily and the
Controlling wayward facial hairs and styling the beard were noticeably easier. The results don’t change much with 3-4 sprayer depressions but you don’t get that nice gloss that you do with 5. Again, this for a dense, full beard.
If you have a full beard that is not dense, you 3 sprayer depressions should work out just fine for you – but on days where you need a more manageable beard you might need 4.
The carrier oil (the oil used to carry the essential oils) is Sunflower Seed Oil – which is awesome for preventing breakage. This is makes it a good choice for beard growers with particularly brittle facial hair.
Another ingredient – that is common in beard oils and many other skin care products – is aloe vera and for a good reason. Aloe vera is known for softening and soothing the skin and that helps with the itchiness and redness.
The powerhouse ingredient list contains Meadowfoam Seed Oil as well – which is known for its anti-infammatory properties and skin rejuvenation. This makes it a great addition to prevent skin inflammations as so often happens when you scratch your beard.
All in all – this is a very good quality product at a fantastic price. The combination of high quality ingredients that can help prevent breakage, anti-inflammatory, soften and soothe the beard and skin, and prevent beardruff make it a well-rounded beard oil.
Scent:
The Beardsley Beard Oil has a subtle bay lime scent that is less apparent than the Bay Lime Beard Oil. You can tell it is there almost as soon as you massage it into your beard – but it doesn’t overpower your senses.
When you rub it into your beard the one word that immediately comes to mind to describe the initial application is: masculine and that’s due to the bay leaf oil (which may help prevent beard loss and beardruff) that gives the beard oil a spicy, masculine aroma. This tends to linger for an hour or so and then there is a very pleasant light scent for the rest of the day.
One of our favorite things about the Beardsley Beard Oil, was this extremely subtle scent that lingers and tends to stay in the beard for a long time. Its almost like the middle and base notes of a cologne – and we were very impressed with this.
Ingredients:
The Beardsley Oil ingredients are as follows: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Squalene (Plant Derived), Helianthus Annuus (Hybrid Sunflower) Oil, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed)/Aluerites Fordi Oil Copolymer, Laureth-4, Fragrance (Parfum), PEG-16, Macadamia Glycerides, Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Oil, Pimenta Acris (Bay) Leaf Oil.
Packaging:
The Beardsley Oil is packaged in an amber bottle with a pump spray for easy dispensing. It is 4 ounces (118ml) and at 3-5 sprayer depressions per use (for full length beards), it will last quite a while.
Pricing:
The Beardsley Oil is priced at $21.95 for a 4 oz. bottle which is just over $5 an oz. This is a very affordable price for a premium product by a company that has come to epitomize quality products.
Verdict:
The Beardsley Oil for Beards is an ideal product to add to your beard care routine. If you are familiar with their shampoos and conditioners you will get the same quality product you’ve come to expect with this brand. Buy the Beardsley Oil for Beards here.
